The Many Adventures of B&B

Since we are regularly updating this blog with most of our daily occurrences for working on AOI, I thought I would go ahead & give these updates a name:) an awesome name. The Many Adventures of B&B. It does have a nice little ring to it!

A few days ago as I was driving back from the University I attend, I saw an interesting little shop with interesting pieces of furniture. So, as any normal AOI sister would do, I slammed on my breaks and whipped my car right in the parking lot! Since starting AOI we have found ourselves scouring (literally) the streets for unique pieces of furniture. So, me, being the good little sister that I am called Brittany right away & sent her a bazillion picture text messages of what I found. After much deliberation we decided to meet for lunch and then take her jeep to buy & load up what we found. What exactly was it that was such a good find to almost cause a wreck and rack up my phone bill with texts? ....

Isn't she lovely with the intricate leather backing?!(minus the faux leather seat cushion of course)

We met at Costco to grab a slice of pizza & maybe a chocolate ice cream bar & then headed over to the shop. As we were backing out of the parking spot, Brittany gets a phone call from another shop owner (who we will eventually be doing business with) and all of the sudden.... BOOM! Yep! Thats right, we had a fender bender. Now, any law abiding citizen would have immediately gotten out of the car to see the damage. Oh no, not our Brittany! She is such a rebel. She continues talking on the phone and chatting up a storm *for what seemed like an eternity* until FINALLY she decides its probably best to see what she hit.It was a little old man in his car with no damage & no worries. We proceeded to buy our beloved chairs!

After purchasing 3 of the chairs and stripping them down to the frame, we found out they are from Liberty, NC made by The Liberty Chair Comapany in 1920! *Can you say shoppers high?!* :)

In all honesty, this is how most our days usually go: randomly finding just the right piece, getting so excited about it and coming up with our "vision" for the piece, all the while there are two screaming babies in the back seat, then sometimes the fabric we choose doesn't quite look how we wanted it to.
Moral of the story is things don't always go how we plan them but in the end the pieces turn out to be more intriguing than we had hoped and yes we worked harder than we thought we would need to but seeing that end result is the best feeling in the world!

This one Brittany is keeping. The fabric is from India! So beautiful.
